Hello!
My name is Vyacheslav, and I am a programmer. I live in Thailand and work on development of UnicornGO game (I am a part of a team of developers though). When this forum was launched, I instantly had an idea to create a thread where all the developers could share some interesting information on how we develop the project. The thread could also be a good place to discuss the inner mechanics of the game, to answer questions, to disclose some work material, ask for advice and just complain of life. Let me be the first who posts a message here. I’ll try to be posting my thoughts here on a regular basis. At the very least, this thread will be my personal diary of developer.

And here goes the answer to the question that I hear most of all: why is the GEN0 better than others?

Each subsequent generation will make it easier to get a worse gene. This is due to the fact that when unicorns having good genes are bred, mutation will occur more often than in case of breeding unicorns with worse genes. And this is why offspring will inherit a strong gene from its parents rare enough. Starting with the GEN0 and further average characteristics of unicorns will worsen. This helps balance the game economics and eliminates possibility of expansion of unicorns with very high characteristics (7 to 10) everywhere as a result of numerous couplings. By this process, price of such unicorns will not lower. Quite the opposite, it will only rise.

The main value of a blockchain-based asset is its guaranteed ownership. Ownership doesn’t depend on creators of the system. Also, the terms of use of assets remain unchanged. We have born in mind all these features while developing the in-game crypto assets: Candy, MegaCandy, Unicorns and plots of land – all them are smart-conracts of ERC-20 and ERC-721 tokens.
